Tiger Kingdom Park in Phuket is a unique place where visitors can observe predatory animals in their natural habitat. It is an ecological park that was opened on June 19, 2013 as a branch of the Chiang Mai Tiger Orphanage.
However, don't think that this is a regular zoo. In the "Tiger Kingdom", visitors can not only watch tigers, but also interact with them, pet them and take photos. This place is ideal for those who love animals and are not afraid of close contact with them.
How to visit Tiger Kingdom Park
Before you go on a tour of the park, decide on the age of the animal you want to meet. Visitors are usually given about ten minutes to meet the tigers, so it is best to choose the one that interests you the most.
The park features over 30 individuals of different ages and sizes. The tigers are divided into five age groups: the smallest, small, medium, adults and "el tigro", as the park's creators call them, the largest individuals. Each animal has its own visiting rules, which depend on the height and age of visitors. It is also possible to purchase combined tickets that allow you to visit several areas of the park.
Tiger Kingdom Prices in 2024
The cost of visiting tigers depends on their size and age. The cheapest ones are small and medium-sized ones, and the most expensive ones are the largest males.
A visit to the small and medium tigers will cost 900 baht.
A tour to see an adult tiger will cost 900-1200 baht.

Combination tickets allow you to save: a visit to a large tiger and a cheetah will cost 1,700 baht, a visit to two tigers and a cheetah - 2,500 baht, and all four animals at once - 3,500 baht. Tickets are purchased for each person separately.
Safety
Many visitors wonder about the safety of being near predators. The park management assures that all tigers have undergone special training and do not show aggression. They are fed chicken meat, so they do not feel hungry. From a very early age, they were raised and socialized with people, so they are very friendly and do not pose a threat.
However, there has been one recorded case of a tiger attacking a person at Tiger Kingdom. When a visitor tripped and fell on an employee accompanying him, the tiger perceived this as a threat to its owner and bit the tourist.
Before visiting the park, you must sign a document that relieves the management and staff of the zoo of responsibility for the health and lives of visitors. Children under 16 and people shorter than 150 cm are not allowed into the park, with the exception of enclosures with small tigers. The larger the individual, the higher the permitted age and height of visitors. This information is also available on the Tiger Kingdom website.
The basic safety rules are the same for all ages of tigers:
Visitors should avoid sudden movements and be confident. Predators should be approached boldly but calmly, and not in a hurry.
It is not recommended to pet tigers on the head or touch their paws, as this may be perceived as disrespect.
Before entering the enclosure, you must turn off the flash on your camera so that the harsh light does not frighten the tiger or damage its vision.
The park also has swimming pools where tigers love to swim. This is one of the most vivid impressions of visiting the park, so be sure to walk to the pools and watch the playful animals.
The park also has a Bengali restaurant where you can try Thai, European and fast food. The restaurant offers a wide range of drinks. The cost of lunch is about 450 baht.
How to get to Tiger Kingdom Park
