Ban Amphur Beach is located in the southern part of Pattaya, in the Na-Jomtien area. It is a quiet and secluded place where you can relax from the hustle and bustle of the city.
During the week, Ban Amphur Beach is not very crowded, but on weekends, locals flock here. Among them, you can meet elderly Europeans who live in nearby condominiums.
Ban Amphur Beach is free of pushy vendors offering goods and services. It is quiet and peaceful, making it an ideal place for those seeking peace.
Ban Amphur Beach extends 800 meters from the dam to the cape, behind which are located villas and several high-rise buildings. Beyond the beach line begins the territory of the yacht club.
Ban Amphur is a village where natural landscapes dominate rather than residential complexes and hotels. A pier made of rock blocks protects the harbor from the winds and creates a calm atmosphere even during the monsoon season, which lasts from March to October. Thanks to this, Ban Amphur beach is always quiet and calm, even when the waves are raging on neighboring beaches.
At the end of the stone spit there is a signal beacon, and next to it there is a T-shaped pontoon pier, which is used not only for mooring boats, but also for fishing.
There are no resort activities on Ban Amphur Beach. Here you can see a wind generator, next to which there is a spacious parking lot, a gazebo and toilets.
Along the embankment there is a palm alley, and the pedestrian paths are paved with paving slabs. When darkness falls, the lanterns are turned on, and locals prefer to relax in hammocks stretched between the trunks of palm trees.
For children, Ban Amphur Beach has a well-equipped playground with elastic flooring, slides, bridges and other structures. Vandal-proof exercise machines are installed next to the playground.
You can rent sun loungers and deck chairs on the beach. The cost of renting a sun lounger is 50 baht, and a deck chair is 100 baht. You can also rent inflatable rings for 150 baht.
Ban Amphur Beach is covered with fine light yellow sand mixed with shell rock. Behind the beach strip begins an unkempt grassy meadow.
There are no designated swimming areas on the beach, but swimmers are not threatened by boats and jet skis, as on most beaches in Pattaya. During high tide, the depth increases sharply, and at low tide, the surf edge retreats by tens of meters. There are no holes, seaweed or stones on the bottom, as well as dangerous underwater currents.
The water on the beach is clean, its transparency depends on weather conditions. The bottom is covered mainly with sandy soil, but there are also silty areas. The beach is kept clean, but further from the shore you can see household and natural garbage.
The beach is full of greenery, which creates shady corners. A refreshing breeze saves from the stuffiness, but there is no shade on the beach.
The cafe on Ban Amphur Beach serves traditional Thai food. The prices here are about one and a half times higher than in Pattaya. For example, a portion of fried rice or noodles with chicken and vegetables costs 100 baht, and tom yum with shrimp costs 200 baht. You can order different types of coffee, smoothies and freshly squeezed juices from the stalls.
On the lawns along the promenade leading to the sea, the owners of food outlets spread out mats and set out low tables after lunch.
There are also seafood restaurants on the beach. At the beginning of the beach location, not far from the windmill, there is a restaurant called Red Sea Food. Tables and plastic chairs are right on the sand under umbrellas. If there were no word "restaurant" on the sign, the establishment could be mistaken for a makashnitsa.
On a hill in the southern part of the beach you can see the Rimpa Lapin restaurant with open wooden terraces built on the slope in cascades. Each veranda offers a panoramic view of the Gulf of Thailand and the city, especially beautiful at sunset and in the light of night lights. The average bill in the restaurant is 500-600 baht per person. In addition to seafood, the restaurant's menu includes European cuisine and a wine list. Live music is played here on weekends.
You can get to Ban Amphur Beach by renting a motorbike or car. The road from Pattaya will take about 10 minutes, excluding traffic jams.
You need to drive 15 kilometers along Sukhumvit Highway towards Satta.
